Bread from the Alps
Ingredients
For the dough:
- 250 g half white flour or half whole grain, half white flour
- 100 g raw sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp spices cloves, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, macis, ground and in equal parts
- 2 dl milk
- 50 g liquid honey
For the glaze:
- 50 g dark chocolate
- 20 g butter
- 4 tbsp water
- 200 g icing sugar
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
Instructions
Dough:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- Mix the dry ingredients, then add the liquid ingredients and mix well.
- Spread the dough on the baking tray and bake at 180°C in the middle of the oven for about 30 minutes.
- After cooling, cut into pieces of about 2.5 x 2.5 cm.
Glaze:
- Melt the chocolate, butter and water over a low heat.
- Add icing sugar and cocoa powder and stir until smooth
- Add the baked pieces to the icing and mix well. Let the glazed pieces dry on a baking paper.
